Just letting you all know I'm alive :-)

I'm participating in a mega kit called "Popsicle Paradise". There are 23 designers participating , including yours truly- and I am having a ball with it. I am trying desperately to get a rose in it somewhere.... anybody up for popsicle lace? LOL ( I can't design with out lace somewhere ...)

It goes public June 1st. I hope you like it. It will be perfect for all those summertime scrapping memories.

I've been busy ..... it's bow time !

Been gone for too long !

I've been busy, tho.....
Rainy from my Sweetz group made a comment about making bows, and I went on a month-long bow-making search and try- out binge. I've learned a LOT :-)

I want to preface this download with a note about this bow. I copied the style of this bow from an image I downloaded months ago on the net. (it had rainbow stripes) It wasn't from a scrap or designer site or a kit. I have easily put in 50 hours of work drawing, shading, outlining, refining, re-drawing, etc before I even made a bow other than my template. Imagine my shock when I saw an almost identical bow as a giveaway 2 weeks ago ! I guess I'm not the only one who thought it was a great style :-)

I almost didn't put it out, but I've made over 100 of them! (I had a creative fling with adjusting hue, saturation, color balance, you name it) and I want to share them, and what I've learned from making them.

Boys & Girls Part 3 OVAL FRAMES

These are the bigger ovals. I wasn't sure just how wide to make them- feel free to use deform to make them suit your pics. The preview was pretty cluttered , so I just included part of the other frames. They are much hansomer up close :-) and co-ordinate nicely with the whole kit.

Boys & Girls Part 3 PAPERS

I have really enjoyed taking this kit to the limit- the black is such an accent. You'll find that this coordinates pretty well with parts 1 and 2 of Boys & Girls, but will also hold it's own.

I don't plan much out in advance, just "go with the flow", so I'm just as interested as you are in what's going to get posted :-) This is all pretty new for me. I have a feeling if I did more actual scrapping my designs would be different, so I guess you're stuck with my 'Let's try this" approach. I just don't have the energy to do much actual scrapping ( although I have 2 books in my head...) .... I'm not complaining ! I'm grateful to be able to do this much. Besides, when is there enough time and energy for ANY scrapper you ever met ? LOL

Such fun making these ! They are the "fancy frames" of this kit. There are a few homey ones coming up, in this theme or in part 3, which has some floral and black prints.

Lace frames

Here's a close up of the frames- in these, the laced is colored. The next set is ecru lace and the background is colored. These seem a little lighter to me. ? Compare with tomorrow's post.





I can't seem to get away from lace for long. Something about it just facinates me. There's just so much of it !!

I think I hoped to get a kit out of the frames and ribbon papers,but it just didn't go that way. Maybe it will sneak up on me.:-)

Been busy .....

Howdy, folks! Been running around lately, which is quite new for me. I've been house-bound for a couple of years, but thanks to a new power chair and the most amazing gift of a wheel-chair accesible van, I'm styling now !:-) I actually went to the Mall and took my daughter shopping. Whee-haa! Shoot, I've been to church 3 Sundays in a row, which beats the 4 times I made for the whole last year.

Needless to say, I've been excited, and distracted. It's fun, but I missed the sanity of my quiet time with the 'puter. Found some bows to share, so here they are:

Almost Christmas Part Six

Almost Christmas is almost over! I'll be putting out the rest of the kit this week, and then it's on to the new year :-)

I'm very new to this designing stuff, but I'm really enjoying it. I guess you all get to come along for the ride as I learn how to do this. For example, the flowers below. I got started and I couldn't stop! By the time I'd made 50 + flowers I sadly realized that I could not anticipate every design combo a scrapper might want. The RESULT: this kit. Mix and match to your hearts content.

*** A TIP: if you have a clear glass preset in Eye-Candy or SBPro, try flood filling a template with a gradient and use the pre-set. ***

Next post will have some flowers I made for this kit and some other goodies if you don't want to assemble any.

Never say never....

Never say " I won't do that !" cuz then by gol you'll just go right ahead and do that very thing. Shook my head sadly when I saw someone retract an image and apologise, thinking "I would never do that. Poor soul (translate = you idiot) must have lost it..." HA! Come on in to the welcome party for the newest idiot- yours truly ! LOL

WHO KNEW? Scrapping is good for the soul- humbles you right down.

The great part is that I wanted a teapot for my papers for this kit, so I just had to make one. Here's the resulting paper, with a little plaid for company:

My sincere apologies ...

It has come to my attention through my faithful friends at Sweetz that I have used a copyrighted image by Sandy Lyman Clough in this kit, and they are so right!

I apologise to the artist, and to all of you for blowing the basic rule: NO STEALING. I truly did not intend to- I was so carried away by my first kit fever I just beeped along....

Anyway, I've replaced the 2 images that had Ms. Clough's artwork with some frames you can put your own beautiful photos in. The improper images have been removed from the download . I made these two frames to replace them:

Tea & Roses part 6

I now have an immense respect for all those designers out there who have so freely shared their hard work/creations with all of us.

And I know now why they do it- it feels great to create something, and even better to share it! I'm so tickled that anyone downloaded anything I made- can't wait to make more. I get the addicted part now.... it's actually a comfort to have something fun to do. Even before I was in a chair all the time I loved PSP, and it's turned out to be one of the things I can still do (besides spend money LOL)
