Embroidered Ribbon CU

I haven't put out a CU in awhile, so we're more than due for one. This works best is you colorize the very bottom layer with your background ribbon color. Extracting the individual layers cleanly was not possible with this detailed a graphic, and the extra background layer covers the stray pixels nicely.

Just a tad Victorian around the edges on some of these, I just noticed. They were just too pretty to leave out. I am making them PU, as I'm not sure where they're from. I've had them for years. If anyone knows the source, I would love to know. The stockings are the only un-altered graphics in this set.

Use any way you like- be creative. You can add textures easily. If you have psp or something that lets you adjust layers, try using the greyscale ribbon as an overlay on a pattern layer.

Since these are all my design, the CU version of the ribbon is offered NEXT POST.

Sometimes I use random images fron the net in my freebie kits. I don't make the items that include any images of that type CU because of copyright issues. But when it's all mine, it's all yours ! ( For example, the fabric patterns used in quilt #2 are from fabric previews, so I keep that PU and DR only) That's why my kits have very individual TOUs, so be sure and check them .

Finally ! I posted something on this kit. Yay!

I had a major attack of 'designer's remorse' and redid all the papers. I corrected the sizing and fussed with the quilts forever. Now that I'm happy with it, it's all yours :-) .

There are 3 quilts to this kit, and the papers are arranged with each one. This is the first. They all co-ordinate, though.

I'm not much for halloween stuff, so the themes are fall leaves, harvest, and Thanksgiving. I do have a Jack'o'latern...

Below is a preview of my ALL FALL kit. This may not be exactly what there will be ( there will be lots more-) just to give you an idea.

I'm beginning to use a few purchased CU items in my kits ( Thank you, thank you! to all my generous donors ) to round them out. It feels like cheating - but on the other hand, I'm thrilled to be able to buy from some awesome designers. I learn so much by studying their stuff- then I make more of my own stuff :-) We all win !

Have been struggling with MS stuff, so have been slower than I'd like. Designing has been a real pleasure, tho. I have enjoyed your comments hugely, and appreciated hearing what you liked. I often read your comments, and then have fresh energy to mess around. Thank you !

I have a few autumny things coming up- then I will probably have a last summer rose and lace moment. LOL Each season has it's own glory that we cam frame our memories in..

This will be part of a larger kit. It will have some cool colors with a little hot sun- sort of Eastern Oregon. I think this will be kind of random- elements here, papers there- but that's just the way it's showing up. Look for a sprinkling of Designer Resourse items, too.

This has been very fun.! But I am pooped :-)

A HUGE HUG of appreciation to all of you who have taken the time to go to all the different downloads I ended up with. A better thank you I could not have. I look at every download as a thank you, 'cuz if you didn't like it, why get it?

Now...

I have a confession to make- I have no idea what a linen tea mat is. But it sounded so elegant I had to use it. . . . . on my porch, having tea, surrounded by a tropical paradise sunrise, my linen tea mat arranged beautifully on my hand- made lace tablecloth.... Sigh :)

These borders are much nicer close up-they are 12" x 3". Just click on the pic to see a close up .My pewter just can't handle the full size papers.

Been gone for too long !

I've been busy, tho.....
Rainy from my Sweetz group made a comment about making bows, and I went on a month-long bow-making search and try- out binge. I've learned a LOT :-)

I want to preface this download with a note about this bow. I copied the style of this bow from an image I downloaded months ago on the net. (it had rainbow stripes) It wasn't from a scrap or designer site or a kit. I have easily put in 50 hours of work drawing, shading, outlining, refining, re-drawing, etc before I even made a bow other than my template. Imagine my shock when I saw an almost identical bow as a giveaway 2 weeks ago ! I guess I'm not the only one who thought it was a great style :-)

I almost didn't put it out, but I've made over 100 of them! (I had a creative fling with adjusting hue, saturation, color balance, you name it) and I want to share them, and what I've learned from making them.

These are the bigger ovals. I wasn't sure just how wide to make them- feel free to use deform to make them suit your pics. The preview was pretty cluttered , so I just included part of the other frames. They are much hansomer up close :-) and co-ordinate nicely with the whole kit.

Boys & Girls Part 3 PAPERS

I have really enjoyed taking this kit to the limit- the black is such an accent. You'll find that this coordinates pretty well with parts 1 and 2 of Boys & Girls, but will also hold it's own.

I don't plan much out in advance, just "go with the flow", so I'm just as interested as you are in what's going to get posted :-) This is all pretty new for me. I have a feeling if I did more actual scrapping my designs would be different, so I guess you're stuck with my 'Let's try this" approach. I just don't have the energy to do much actual scrapping ( although I have 2 books in my head...) .... I'm not complaining ! I'm grateful to be able to do this much. Besides, when is there enough time and energy for ANY scrapper you ever met ? LOL

Lace frames

Here's a close up of the frames- in these, the laced is colored. The next set is ecru lace and the background is colored. These seem a little lighter to me. ? Compare with tomorrow's post.

I can't seem to get away from lace for long. Something about it just facinates me. There's just so much of it !!

I think I hoped to get a kit out of the frames and ribbon papers,but it just didn't go that way. Maybe it will sneak up on me.:-)

Been busy .....

Howdy, folks! Been running around lately, which is quite new for me. I've been house-bound for a couple of years, but thanks to a new power chair and the most amazing gift of a wheel-chair accesible van, I'm styling now !:-) I actually went to the Mall and took my daughter shopping. Whee-haa! Shoot, I've been to church 3 Sundays in a row, which beats the 4 times I made for the whole last year.

Needless to say, I've been excited, and distracted. It's fun, but I missed the sanity of my quiet time with the 'puter. Found some bows to share, so here they are:
